Hola a todos! So I would love to write this all en espanol, but I won’t bore you! I just spent my first weekend in Buenos Aires, and it was awesome! You all are missing out! Basically the lifestyle down here is way different, and for those night owls, it’s perfect. Anything that starts before 9am is considered waaaaaay too early. You eat lunch no earlier than 1pm, have a little snack of tea and bread at 6pm, and dinner is no earlier than 10pm. So after dinner each night, we hit up the bars where the drinks are cheap (no joke, the exchange rate makes this place wonderful - a good dinner costs no more than 8 USD). You leave there around 1:30 am if you’re cheap. People don’t really start going to the clubs until 3 am, so if you want to be cheap and go to a club before 2am, you can usually get in for free or for a cheaper cover charge.
The clubs are fun. Granted, I’ve never been to a legit club in los Estados Unidos, pero I think these are better. I’m still getting used to all the electronica, but there are other clubs that play current music, and 90% of that music is american music. They love it down here! A lot of the clubs are multiple levels, and everyone here has a blatant disrespect for the law. No smoking signs you say? Who gives a shit, I want a cigarrette, and I’m having it now, inside.
Wednesday the club I went to was having its office party night…so I enjoyed the old men in suits hitting on every female in the place - hilarious yet enjoyable. And yes, I said Wednesday nights. People go out at a minimum Tuesday - Saturday. Occassionally on Mondays - so no one cares about their jobs or anything…arriving late is the style. So those are just first impressions, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated on the many other great things I am sure to come across.
Also, if there’s something you really want that’s too expensive for your taste in the States, let me know and I’ll see if they have it here, because it will most certainly be cheaper!

…because I apparently have no self limit, I’m scaling back the alcohol for a while…the first example of this came last night when I went with some editors to a bar at the Hotel Marlowe last night and only had one small glass of wine. YAY WILL POWER!!!!
and I’m hoping that this does not include tomorrow, because having will power was not part of the agenda…

Ok kids, I’ve been MIA for awhile preparing for Argentina, which includes uploading all the Madonna my father owns onto my ipod to prepare for my 11.5 hour plane ride. Unfortunately, he doesn’t own any Michael Jackson so I can commemorate his death, but I think I heard enough of him all day Friday when I was driving over 200 miles around Illinois - not exciting. As sad as his death is, I love the humor that comes out of this. Example A: http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/08599190736700 - Tokyo loves him.
Example B: When Farrah Fawcett arrived in heaven, her one wish was that all the children would be safe - so God killed Michael Jackson.
bahahaha how much Madonna does your father own? I can give you 2.5 days worth. No lie.
and you definitely beat my father…but I have my favorite Madonna CD - The Immaculate Conception, so I’m happy with that!
